I thought I’d take a moment to mention who I (Topslakr) am. I’m Topslakr. It’s a screen name I picked up years ago when I was in High School. It’s really my second ‘handle’. I used to go by Sr71rules but after the band SR71 appeared I began getting a lot of questions about my.. obvious.. allegiance to thier brand of music. I created that nick when I was quite young and it was in homage to a military plane of the same name. The questions got old and I changed my name to Topslakr. Something else my more geeky readers may be interested to know, my nick is 9 characters long (I’ll wait while you count) which also happens to be the maximum length allowed by the IRC network Efnet to which I am always connected to.

With the exception of my incredible nick.. I’m a pretty normal geek I think. I started poking at computers when I was young. We ended up moving a few times while I was growing up at awkward times… such as when the school year ended. When you think about it seems like a great time to move; You finish off the year at one school and start the next year at a new one but what really happens is you loose all your friends in June and don’t meet any new ones until September. Whoops! Needless to say I had some time on my hands… Fast forward to an even more boring topic and I now work with computers! What better way to take the joy out of something you love then to work it into a career.

I never went to school for computers which seems a bit unique in my field for people my age. I actually when to school for Audio Recording, which is what I really enjoy doing. When I got out of school I decided to open my own studio and have been working in IT every since. Hey, building a studio is expensive and I needed some cash flow. I’m getting there!

So, that is some of what I enjoy doing. I also enjoy long walks on the beach.. wait wait. No. I hate that. Salt water? Sun? Are you kidding? I have a pasty white complextion to maintain here! I dohave a new found love for photography which has been a lot of fun. I also try to find time to do some mountain biking though it’s never as often as I’d like. I’m hoping to combine the biking with the taking of the pictures.. we’ll see if that happens. Would make for some interesting photo albums, ‘Biking rides for the lazy’ or something like that.

The real reason for writing this page however is to encourage you the reader to give something back. I’m always ready to answer emails and respond to questions. You ought to be able to guess my email address but if not I’ll cryptically type it toward the bottom of this page. One has to be careful to not solicite any more spam then nessesary. It’s also important to note that you are invited to add comments to my posts, it’s setup in such a way that you do not need to register to post. I’m not gathering any personal information and anything the site does as for is reqested to be sure that you are not a spammer looking to post crap on my pages (I delete about 1000 spam comments a week.. one has to take percautions against that volume of spam showing up on the site). Please! Comment! Email!
