HP. Not Perfect, but Trying!

I like HP. They make a good product at a competitive price and most importantly they stand behind what they sell. I’m not going to get into details about my job or our server environment ect ect but I do want to relay a couple of things that have helped to cement my position on HP.

Shortly after I was hired on at the company I work for my boss and I (we’re a very large IT department…) were asked to get a server in house and prepared to host a new application in 10 days. Quite a tall order. We looked into a number of server from Dell, IBM, HP ect ect and settled on getting an HP ML 350 G5.… Click here to read more!

Why I choose to not use Dell

It seems that I have in the past spoken about how I’m not a fan of Dell computers. I used to be, who doesn’t like a cheap PC? I encouraged my mom to buy one, as well as my sister and both of those machines are running great. I used to have plenty of love for Dell and I used to tell people to buy them all the time but lately in the absence of Michael Dell (who has recently been brought back into the company) Dell made some choices and cut some corners I just cannot stand behind. Case in point: My moms dell, the last one I have recommended someone buy, came out of the box with spyware installed on the system.… Click here to read more!

Vacation – Thinking ahead, and thinking back

Well, I have a much needed vacation coming up towards the end of summer and I am already thinking about all of the items I want to make sure I have. It was last years vacation that got me inspired to starting taking more photos and this year I want to make sure I have plenty of toys to dabble with.

I of course have my Nikon D40 with it’s 18-50mm kit lens, and my 70-300mm VR lens but I have also added a few more items. The first is a wireless remote to be able to take pictures with out touching the camera.… Click here to read more!

New Year… so new and fresh

What is the point of a New Year celebration? Is it really that big of a deal to change the calendar on the wall? I mean iCal and Outlook don’t pop up on January first and scream about the change from one year to the next. New Years is simply a time for people to get drunk and nothing more. Sure lots of people make ‘resolutions’ but what is the point of that? If you have something that you should be doing to better yourself do you really have to wait for the 1st of the year to do it? Let’s me honest, it’s just convenient.… Click here to read more!

New db400971999 Blog

I used to be a Drupal user but I have switched (back) to db400971999. Sometimes the easy way is the best way. I had been looking for a good way to integrate my image gallery into my blog and db400971999 seems to have the best plugin. It’s called WPG2 and it integrates db400971999 with an existing Gallery2 Image Gallery. Ideal for me.

I have had some luck getting it to work but at this point it’s not 100%. I have the integration far enough along that the right side navagatio bar shows an image from my gallery but when you click on it the interface it brings up doesn’t work correctly.… Click here to read more!
